Entebbe International Airport
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide. After a short briefing about your journey, you’ll begin your adventure with a visit to Mabamba Swamp, one of Uganda’s finest birding destinations.
A traditional canoe excursion through the swamp offers the best opportunity to search for the legendary Shoebill Stork, one of Africa’s most sought-after birds. Along the way, you’ll also encounter numerous water birds including kingfishers, herons, egrets, African jacanas, and cormorants.
Later, return to Entebbe for relaxation at your lodge.
After an early breakfast, depart Entebbe for northern Uganda. En route, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where wild rhinos can be tracked on foot.
Accompanied by experienced rangers, enjoy an exciting walking safari to observe the endangered white rhinos in their natural habitat.
After lunch, continue your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, visit the spectacular top of Murchison Falls where the mighty River Nile forces itself through a narrow seven-meter gorge before plunging over 40 meters below.
Proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight
Rise early for a thrilling morning game drive across the northern plains of Murchison Falls National Park.
Look out for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hartebeests, hyenas, leopards, and numerous bird species.
Return to the lodge for lunch before enjoying one of Africa’s finest wildlife boat cruises along the Victoria Nile. The cruise brings you close to hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and countless water birds before reaching the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls.
Later, if not visited the previous day, hike to the top of the falls for breathtaking panoramic views.
After breakfast, head to Budongo Forest for an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience.
Led by experienced guides, walk through the tropical rainforest in search of habituated chimpanzees.
Along the way, you may also encounter black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, olive baboons, and a variety of forest birds.
After lunch, transfer to the Masindi or Hoima area for relaxation and overnight.
Enjoy breakfast before embarking on a scenic drive southwest towards Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The journey passes through beautiful countryside characterized by tea plantations, rolling hills, traditional villages, and fertile farmland.
Arrive in the park during the afternoon with opportunities to spot wildlife along the way before checking into your lodge.
Begin the day with an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, renowned for their rich wildlife populations.
Search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hyenas, warthogs, waterbucks, and, with luck, elusive leopards.
After lunch, embark on a relaxing boat cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George.
The cruise offers exceptional wildlife viewing with hundreds of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and one of Africa’s highest concentrations of water birds.
Following breakfast, drive to the remote Ishasha Sector, famous worldwide for its unique population of tree-climbing lions.
Enjoy a game drive while searching for these remarkable predators resting in giant fig trees. You’ll also encounter elephants, topis, buffaloes, and numerous antelope species.
After lunch, continue through scenic highlands to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
Arrive in the evening and prepare for the next day’s incredible trekking experience.
Today is the highlight of your safari.
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers.
You will then trek through the dense rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Trekking may last between two and eight hours depending on the gorillas’ location.
Once found, spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, groom, and interact in their natural environment.
Return to the lodge for relaxation and celebration
After breakfast, depart Bwindi for Lake Mburo National Park.
The drive passes through scenic hills, cattle farms, and traditional Ankole communities before arriving at Uganda’s smallest savannah national park.
